Police have arrested Aleema Khan, the sister of Pakistan's imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

A spokesperson for the Punjab chapter of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) stated on Sunday (September 20) that she was arrested from her residence in Lahore.

Aleema Khan was arrested ahead of a rally planned by Imran's party, the PTI, for September 27.

Reuters reported that they sought comments regarding the arrest from a Pakistani government spokesperson and the police but received no response.
