In his address to the 81st session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), US President Donald Trump presented two distinct paths for Iran.
He outlined the opportunity for reconstruction through a deal with the United States on one hand, and warned of a potentially catastrophic conflict should no agreement be reached on the other.
Trump said, "Would I push them toward a hell where there is no chance of survival? Where there is no hope of greatness for future generations?"
However, despite such stern warnings, Trump expressed optimism that a deal with Iran would eventually be reached. He suggested that an agreement could be concluded immediately after the elections.
As he put it, "There is no logical reason for Tehran not to agree to a deal."
With tensions escalating between Iran and the US and negotiations stalled, diplomatic efforts are once again gaining importance. Amidst this situation, fresh discussions have begun regarding the possibility of resuming talks between the two nations.
