In Purbadhala Upazila of Netrokona, MP Mansura Akhter has distributed 9 lakh 60 thousand taka as gifts among 319 helpless and extremely poor beneficiaries of the Prime Minister's Relief Fund on the initiative of reserved women's seat MP Mansura Akhter.
On Sunday (June 14/26) at 11:30 am, leaders of the Upazila BNP and its affiliated organizations distributed this money on behalf of MP Mansura Akhter at a function organized at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium. She could not attend the function as she was busy with the parliament session.
Present at the event were Ishtiaq Ahmed Babu, chairman candidate for the upcoming Upazila Parishad elections and former joint convener of Purbadhala Upazila BNP, Abdullah Al Helali, joint convener of Jubo Dal, Mahfuzul Haque Manar, former member secretary of Swechchhasebak Dal, former joint convener of Chhatra Dal, Solaiman Kabir Pappu, former cultural secretary of Jubo Dal, Abraham Lincoln, Dhaka Metropolitan East Chhatra Dal Vice President Ariful Islam Khan, Bairati Union BNP President Asaduzzaman Dulal, Gohalakanda Union BNP General Secretary Abdul Matin, Bairati Union BNP General Secretary Farid Ahmed, Anisa Alam, and other leaders, activists and beneficiaries of Upazila BNP and its affiliated organizations.
According to the organizers, out of the 10 lakh taka allocated from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund, 9 lakh 60 thousand taka has been distributed among 319 beneficiaries in Purbadhala Upazila. Of the remaining amount, 30 thousand taka has been allocated for Netrokona Sadar Upazila and 10 thousand taka for Durgapur Upazila.
Former joint convener of the upazila BNP, Ishtiaq Ahmed Babu, said that since MP Mansura Akhtar is in the parliament session, party leaders are conducting this distribution program on her behalf. He further said that the money is being distributed transparently after verifying and selecting the truly helpless and extremely poor families of various unions in the upazila and the list of beneficiaries will also be published in the public interest.
Solaiman Kabir Pappu said that since Mansura Akhtar took charge of the reserved seat, he has been working to make Purbadhala Upazila a role model Upazila.
