An order has been issued to deploy the army in 6 districts of the country to maintain law and order.
The ISPR issued this order on Monday (June 22). The districts to be deployed are Dhaka, Narayanganj, Gopalganj, Chittagong, Faridpur and Gazipur.
Sources say that the Awami League's founding anniversary is on June 23. The army is being deployed mainly keeping this in mind. They will be in the field until June 30.
It is learned that on June 23, various intelligence agencies of the law and order forces have said that taking to the field on the occasion of the Awami League's founding anniversary may worsen the law and order situation.
In that context, along with the police and RAB, various law enforcement forces, army members will also be in the field. The forces have already taken a cautious stance so that the Awami League cannot take to the field and create chaos.
Suspects are being searched in various districts and upazila cities of the country, including the capital Dhaka, for the past two days. Awami League leaders whose activities are banned are being arrested in raids at various places. However, in the meantime, there are reports in various media outlets that Awami League leaders and activists are holding surprise processions at various places.
