A legal notice has been sent to Grameen Bank and other relevant authorities demanding financial assistance and compensation for the family of a seven-month-old child who died of measles.

The notice has called for taking necessary action within three days. Otherwise, legal action will be taken.

The notice sent on Monday (June 29) through Supreme Court lawyer Jewel Azad has made the chairman, managing director, health secretary, director general of the Department of Health and other relevant persons as respondents.

The notice states that in addition to investigating the incident and taking necessary action, the family of the deceased child should be given appropriate compensation. It has also been mentioned that if effective action is not taken in this regard within three days of receiving the notice, necessary legal action will be taken.

The noticeer claims that the seven-month-old son of Shakil, a lawyer assistant at the Supreme Court, died of measles on May 26. In addition to determining the responsibility for his death, a demand has been made for a cash assistance of five lakh taka and a compensation of one crore taka to the affected family.

Regarding the notice, lawyer Jewel Azad said, Dr. Due to the negligence of the previous interim government led by Muhammad Yunus, child deaths are occurring in Ham and the government is responsible for these deaths.

He said, Dr. Yunus is the founder of Grameen Bank. Although he is not directly involved with the bank at present, he is indirectly involved. That is why compensation has been demanded from Grameen Bank.
