State Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment (GOP) President and former DUCSU VP Md. Nurul Haque Noor said that the anti-discrimination student movement began with the quota reform movement and that it took the form of a mass movement in 2024, creating the reality of the current Bangladesh. He mentioned the role of the students and people who participated in the movement and called for unity in establishing democracy, justice and people's rights.

He said these things in his speech as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting organized by the Ganadhikar Parishad (GOP) with local political leaders, civil society, media workers, teachers and people from all walks of life in Dumki Upazila of Patuakhali at 5:30 pm yesterday, Friday. He also said that everyone must work together to establish democracy, good governance and people's voting rights in the country. At the same time, he also mentioned that the People's Rights Council is working continuously to realize the just rights of the people.

Agriculturalist Md. Shahidul Islam Fahim, a member of the Higher Council of the People's Rights Council, was the special guest in this meeting organized at the Upazila Auditorium. Under the chairmanship of Md. Munna Zahir, President of the People's Rights Council (GOP) Dumki Upazila Branch and moderated by Md. Nasir Uddin Jewel, among others, former President of Upazila BNP Principal Bahauddin Bahar, President of Press Club Dumki Principal Md. Jasim Uddin Sumon, President of Private School-College Teachers' Association Principal Md. Jamal Hossain, freedom fighter Sohrab Sharif, Assistant Teacher of Jalisha Disabled School Md. Sohel Khan, etc., spoke.

The meeting discussed local situation, democracy, people's rights, establishment of good governance and various contemporary issues. The speakers emphasized on building people-oriented politics and working together to realize the rights of the common people.

People from different classes and professions of the upazila, media workers, teachers, representatives of civil society, and leaders and activists of the People's Rights Council were present at the meeting.
