If any new fascist force rises, resistance will be built against them, said Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, Member of Parliament for Patuakhali-2 (Baufal) constituency.

He said these things as the chief guest in the prayer and discussion meeting organized in memory of the martyrs, injured and disabled in the July-August mass uprising at the Baufal Upazila Parishad auditorium on Friday (July 3) afternoon.

The program was presided over by Maulana Selimur Rahman, Amir of Baufal Municipality Jamaat. Maulana Rafiqul Islam, Amir of Baufal Upazila Jamaat, was the special guest.

In the speech of the chief guest, Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud said, “It was not only our brothers and friends who fought in July-August 2024. Many say that on that day, Allah Almighty sent angels like Ababil against the oppressor and made that movement successful. Just as Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala gave victory to our enemy in the Battle of Badr, He also gave victory to the oppressed against the oppressor on August 5, 2024.

She (fascist Hasina) said, ‘I will not let any movement succeed against me in this Bangladesh. I will not leave this Bangladesh and go anywhere.’ But we have seen that the movement in Bangladesh has succeeded. She has fled. Now this fascist Sheikh Hasina is saying from abroad, ‘I am coming to Bangladesh again.’

Dr. Masud MP said, I am saying unequivocally that fascist Hasina will not come to Bangladesh. Because she knows that if she comes to Bangladesh, she will have to hang herself. I want to tell her, there is no need for you to come. The people of Bangladesh will bring you and hang you before the law. "We will not be able to determine the success of the July Movement until the execution of the fascist Hasina is carried out."

Although Sheikh Hasina fled, her followers are still carrying out fascist activities. We were banned on August 1, and on August 5, Sheikh Hasina fled with her talpitalpa. So, before anyone talks about Jamaat-e-Islami, remember that Jamaat-e-Islami is not a party like the Kachuripana of Bangladesh."

He further said, “We are noticing in some places that some people in the current government’s presence have started making indecent comments about the July fighters. I want to make one thing clear, not just the government—if someone bigger than the government insults the July-August fighters, then we must remember that July did not end only in 2024.

There will be July in 2026, July will come in 2027, and July will come in 2028. If any new fascists rise up in the meantime, resistance will be built against them. Remember, the Gen-G generation still exists, and there is also the Alpha generation.

If you think so, then be sure of this—the referendum verdict must be implemented. You boast of a 49 percent majority in parliament, yet 70 percent of the people voted in favor of the referendum. Therefore, the referendum verdict must be implemented.”

Also present at the event were former Shibir Central Dawah Secretary Advocate Mujahidul Islam, former Patuakhali District Shibir President Rakibul Islam Noor, former District Shibir President Mahfuz Hossain, Baufal Upazila Shibir President Arif Hossain, Baufal Upazila Jamaat Secretary Professor Khaledur Rahman Mia, Baufal Development Forum President Asaduzzaman Sohag, General Secretary Kamruzzaman Kajal, and family members of the martyrs and injured in the upazila.
