A torchlight procession, protest and protest rally against drugs were held in Shubhokhai village of Gohalakanda Union No. 11 of Purbadhala Upazila of Netrokona. The program was organized on Wednesday (October 21, 2026) evening with the slogan ‘Let’s go to war, against drugs’ in front of it.

Organized by the Shubhokhai Drug Eradication Committee, the attention of the police administration was drawn to identify drug users and drug dealers and bring them under the law quickly.

The speakers at the rally said that the spread of drugs in Shubhokhai village and surrounding areas is pushing the youth towards destruction. To protect the young generation from the harmful effects of drugs, people from all walks of life, along with the police and administration, must build social resistance.

The program was attended by Shubhokhai Drug Eradication Committee President Toufiq Ahmed Sagar, Vice President Mostakim Billah, Sohel Talukder, Saddam Hossain Fakir and Md. Mizanur Rahman; General Secretary Md. Haque Mia; Joint General Secretaries Rifatul Hasan, Riyaduzzaman and Rafiul Islam; Organizing Secretary Engineer Mobarak Hossain; Co-Organizing Secretaries Khokon Mia and Adrian Naeem were present.

In addition, committee advisor Huzaifa and Dhaka University student Zakir Hossain Fahim, along with local people, participated in the program.

Locals said that if such social initiatives against drugs continue, drug prevention activities in the area will be strengthened. They emphasized on the administration’s effective steps to eradicate drugs and increase social awareness.
