As part of the 250 million tree plantation program in the next 5 years, as per the election promise of the Honorable Prime Minister of the Government of Bangladesh, Tarique Rahman, Rokon Uddin Babul, Member of Parliament for Lalmonirhat 2 (Aditmari-Kaliganj) constituency, inaugurated the plantation of fruit, forest and medicinal trees.

The program was inaugurated by planting trees on the side of Patgram-Lalmonirhat highway in the Chapartal area of ​​Kakina Union on Saturday (June 13) afternoon with the cooperation of Kaliganj Upazila Administration, Forest Department and LGED under Lalmonirhat district.

Later, Rokon Uddin Babul distributed saplings of various trees among the students of Chapartol Government Primary School.

After that, the chief guest Rokon Uddin Babul planted trees at various important roads, offices and educational institutions.

Present at the event were Kaliganj Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Shamima Akhter Jahan, Upazila Engineer Habibur Rahman, Kaliganj Upazila BNP Senior Joint Convener Bidhan Chandra Roy, Kaliganj Upazila Parishad Former Vice Chairman Abdul Latif, Kaliganj Upazila Jubo Dal Member Secretary Kudrati Meherban Mithu, Senior Joint Convener Rafiqul Islam, Kaliganj Upazila Chhatra Dal Acting Member Secretary Razzakur Islam Razzak, among others.

After the tree plantation program, bicycles were distributed among poor and talented students, sewing machines among helpless women, and wheelchairs among physically disabled people, organized by the upazila administration at the Kaliganj Upazila Parishad auditorium.
