A human chain program has been held in Patuakhali to demand prevention of misinterpretation of Quran and Sunnah and religious confusion and to call for stopping the activities of Hizbut Tawheed.
The program was organized at 5 pm on Monday (June 22) at the city’s Jhautala square under the banner of Shashak Ulama-e-Keram and Tawheedi Janata.
Imams, scholars-ulama of various mosques, devout Muslims and the general public participated in it.
The speakers in the human chain alleged that Hizbut Tawheed is propagating misleading ideology in the interpretation of Quran and Sunnah, which is in conflict with the basic teachings and values of Islam. They claim that controversial statements on various religious issues including veil and prayers are creating confusion among ordinary Muslims and as a result, many people in different parts of the country are being attracted to false doctrines.
The speakers said that in the interest of preserving the pure beliefs and ideals of Islam, people from all walks of life should unite against misleading interpretations and ideologies on religious issues.
At the same time, they also warned that strict action will be taken if any attempt is made to conduct any activities of Hizbut Tawheed in Patuakhali in the future.
Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Patuakhali District President Maulana Abbas Ali, Shaikhul Hadith Mufti Sabbir Ahmed, Maulana Abdur Rahim, Hafez Maulana Abdul Matin, Hafez Maulana Anwar Hossain, Hafez Maulana Sanaullah Sadi, Muhammad Nurunnabi, former coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Tofazzel Hossain and Sadar Upazila Convener of National Student Power Muhammad Emadul Islam, along with various local social and religious leaders, spoke at the human chain.
The speakers urged the concerned authorities to take necessary steps and urged everyone to be aware of protecting the correct education and values of Islam based on the Quran and Sunnah.
After the human chain, special prayers and munajat were held, seeking peace, prosperity and welfare of the country, nation and Muslim Ummah.
