Israeli forces have killed at least 19 Palestinians in airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, amid US President Donald Trump’s announced Gaza peace plan. Palestinian health officials said the attacks, which began early on Sunday (August 2), were the highest number of deaths in a single day in recent weeks.

According to the international media Al Jazeera, a pregnant woman, her husband and their five-year-old child were killed in an attack on a residential apartment in Al-Susi Towers in western Gaza City. On the same day, three more people from the same family were killed in an attack on an apartment in the Al-Qarara area of ​​Khan Yunis.

In addition, a couple on a motorcycle were killed in Deir al-Balah. One person was killed in Jabalia refugee camp, one in Al-Mawasi, two in a drone attack in the Rimal area and four in a car attack in Gaza City.

Israel on Saturday struck a medicine warehouse at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, completely destroying two facilities and severely damaging two others. Munir al-Bursh, the director-general of the Gaza Health Ministry, accused the destruction of essential medical supplies and the use of medicine and disease as a weapon of war.

Al Jazeera’s Moaz al-Kahlout reported that a large crater was visible at the scene. The attack came just 15 minutes after the order to evacuate the area was issued.

The report also said that in the past 48 hours, Israel has carried out low-level airstrikes across Gaza without warning, targeting residential buildings and public gatherings. At least eight Palestinians were killed in these attacks on Saturday and several more on Friday.

Last Friday (July 31), the Peace Board and the International Stabilization Force, formed as part of Washington’s 20-point Gaza peace plan, announced the implementation of the ceasefire. Although Hamas has agreed to lay down its arms under Trump’s plan, the Israeli government has yet to make any official comment on the matter.

The Palestinians allege that despite the ceasefire announcement, the entire process has effectively become a “fraud” due to continued attacks and the blocking of humanitarian aid. At least 1,222 Palestinians have been killed and 4,053 injured in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire, which was announced in October 2025 and brokered by Qatar, Egypt and the United States.

Israel expert Mohanad Mustafa said that these agreements were imposed on Israel and that the country has been consistently violating the agreements by offering its own interpretations.

On the other hand, Israel has expressed concerns to the United States about the proposed plan for Hamas to surrender its weapons and withdraw its troops. Doron Spielman, a spokesman for the country’s prime minister’s office, said that the troops will not be withdrawn until Hamas completely surrenders its weapons.

Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen also said there was no obligation to halt attacks during the talks.

Meanwhile, Hamas has accused Israel of increasing its attacks to undermine the agreement reached with the United States. The UN envoy to the Palestinian Authority, Nickolay Mladenov, said mediators were working tirelessly to defuse the situation.
