Allegation of forcible occupation of sister’s land in Taltoli, court hands over land after measuring on-site

The allegation of forcible occupation of younger sister Khaleda’s land in Mridha house of Kachupatra village in Taltoli upazila of Barguna has been settled. After measuring the land on-site and determining the boundaries, pillars were installed and the land was handed over to Khaleda.

It is learned that Khaleda’s land in Mridha house of Kachupatra village was forcibly occupied by her brother Khalil Mridha. When a dispute arose over the matter, the land was measured on-site at the initiative of the concerned authorities.

After the measurement, the land due to Khaleda was identified, pillars were installed on the boundaries and the land was handed over to her. Local people and concerned persons were present at the time.

In this incident, Amtoli learned Judicial Magistrate Ifti Hasan Imran sentenced Khalil Mridha to 15 days of simple imprisonment.

The local people have expressed relief over the land demarcation and the transfer of their land to the affected people. They have demanded a speedy and fair resolution of such land disputes.
