Bangladesh donates 123 million taka to disaster-hit Nepal

Neighboring country Bangladesh has stood by the ongoing relief, recovery and humanitarian assistance activities in the Himalayan country of Nepal in the wake of flash floods and landslides.

As part of which, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s government has donated 1 million US dollars (123 million taka) to the Nepal Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

On Thursday (September 3), at the State Guest House Padma, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir handed over a letter written by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari and informed him about this assistance.

Earlier, on Tuesday (September 1), Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir signed the condolence book opened at the Nepal Embassy in Dhaka.

It is worth noting that in the wake of this terrible tragedy in Nepal, the Bangladesh National Parliament also adopted a condolence resolution on August 27.
