US President Donald Trump has claimed that if the US wins the ongoing war against Iran, fuel prices will drop rapidly in the global market and the US domestic market. According to him, if the conflict ends, the price of fuel at US pumps will drop to $3 per gallon and may even drop below $2 later.

Trump made these remarks in a recent post on his social media platform ‘Truth Social’. Al Jazeera reported.

The ongoing conflict between the US and Israel with Iran has put a huge economic strain on ordinary US citizens. The price of petrol and diesel at the country’s pumps has reached a record high due to the increase in the price of crude oil in the wholesale market.

According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), the average price of diesel per gallon in the US is currently $5.85, which was $3.71 a year ago. The rise in diesel prices has surpassed the record of the energy crisis created after the Ukraine war.

Due to the widespread use of diesel in commercial transportation, agriculture and manufacturing sectors, the cost of transporting goods and producing goods in the US economy has increased alarmingly. In such a situation, Trump has been promising to reduce fuel prices to reduce the pressure on American citizens. He also warned again that Iran will “never be able to possess nuclear weapons”.

The United States has recently announced a major oil deal with Venezuela to address the energy crisis. Venezuela’s interim President Delcy Rodriguez said that on Saturday, the two countries signed agreements on the development of 17 strategic oil fields.

More than $100 billion will be invested in the oil fields, which have reserves of about 65 billion barrels of oil. Through this, the Venezuelan government is expected to receive more than $209 billion in tax revenue.
