A court has ordered the jailing of two women in a case of shooting a businessman in a shop in Shanir Akhara area of ​​Kadamtali, Dhaka. The two women, named Aklima Akter Runia and Sonia Yasmin, are accused of supplying weapons and bullets.

On Wednesday (September 9), Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibuzzaman ordered their jailing on the basis of the investigation officer’s application.

Runia was arrested from the Bogbari More area of ​​Kachkura on Tuesday afternoon and Sonia from the Uttarkhan area.

On Wednesday, the investigation officer of the case, SI Mithu Mandal of Kadamtali Police Station, presented the accused before the court and requested that they be detained in jail.

On Saturday night at around 8:15 pm, a businessman Aslam Khan was shot dead after entering a crockery shop in the Dakshin Donia-Shanir Akhara area of ​​Kadamtali police station. Manjurul Islam was arrested with the help of locals during the incident. Police recovered two pistols, nine rounds of bullets and a bullet shell from him.

The application to detain the two women said that Aklima and Sonia collected the weapons used in the attack from a man named Kamal. After taking these weapons and bullets from Kamalal, they went under the Shanir Akhara flyover and gave them to Manjurul and Jasim.

Two cases were filed in this incident. Aslam Khan’s father-in-law Badal Mia filed a case with Kadamtali police station on charges of attempted murder. Manjurul Islam and Iqbal Kalu were sent to jail the next day in this case.

Another case was filed under the Arms Act. Kadamtali police station SI Ashok Kumar Sarkar filed the case. Manjurul was sent to jail on Sunday after being arrested in a case related to the Arms Act. The court remanded him for two days on Tuesday.
