Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md. Asaduzzaman remarked that the government and public representatives would lose their way if they failed to listen to the people or value their opinions.
He said, “The people have entrusted us with responsibility. If you are not allowed to speak, or if we do not listen to you, we will lose our path. We would then be unable to return to the right track. This is our pledge.”
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a meeting regarding the district’s law and order and development activities, held at the Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner’s conference room at 10:00 AM on Tuesday (September 15).
Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman stated that everyone’s goal should be to create an environment where fascism cannot return to Bangladesh to leave a mother bereft of her child, or force families to wait night after night for the return of a loved one. He emphasized that the collective aim is to prevent a situation where fascists could return to cause such grief or leave mothers praying with raised hands for the safe return of their kin.
He noted that while there may be differences of opinion among various political parties, everyone must remain united against fascism. To sustain the country’s development and democratic environment, the path of fascism must be blocked.
He added, “We may hold differing views across parties, but we are united against fascism. This country belongs to us. To move the nation forward, we must suppress the path of fascism. If we fail to establish this course now, we will lose our way, and we will all face danger.”
The meeting included discussions on the district’s law and order situation, ongoing development activities, as well as various challenges and prospects. Local public representatives, government officials, and political leaders highlighted various issues concerning the district during the session. The meeting was attended by Khan Moshiur Rahman (MP, Bagerhat-1), Principal Abdul Alim (MP, Bagerhat-4), Deputy Commissioner Golam Md. Baten, Superintendent of Police Hasan Mohammad Naser Rikabdar, Khulna Range DIG Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman, Bagerhat District Council Administrator Barrister Sheikh Mohammad Zakir Hossain, and Bagerhat NCP Convener Syed Morshed Anwar Sohel, alongside officials from the district administration, police, and various government departments, as well as leaders from different political parties.
