Speaker of the National Assembly of Bangladesh, Major (Retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram, was given a public reception at Lalmohan, Bhola for being elected as the Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Group of the IPU (Inter-Parliamentary Union).

The reception was organized at 11:30 am on Tuesday (October 20) at the Lalmohan Upazila Parishad Auditorium at the initiative of the Upazila and Municipal BNP and its organs and associate organizations.

Speaking as the chief guest at the reception, the Speaker said that this achievement is not only his personal honor, but this achievement has increased the dignity of Bangladesh and Bhola, Lalmohan Tajumuddin. At that time, he expressed his strict stance against extortion, encroachment, drugs and corruption. He also called for ensuring justice and distributing relief to the real beneficiaries.

After the reception, he handed over cash checks to 150 homeless and destitute people.
