Free fertilizer, seeds and seedlings distributed to more than 4,000 farmers in Lalmohan, Bhola

In order to implement the government’s election promise in the 2025-26 fiscal year, free Aman paddy seeds, fertilizer, various seasonal vegetable seeds, chili seeds, lemon seedlings and tree seedlings have been distributed to farmers in Lalmohan, Bhola under the agricultural incentive program.

An auspicious inaugural ceremony was organized on this occasion by the Upazila Agriculture Office at the Upazila Farmers Training Center auditorium on Wednesday (July 1). Lalmohan Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Sifat Bin-(Sadek) was present as the chief guest at the ceremony. Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Abu Hasnain presided over the ceremony.

List of sector-wise incentives and beneficiaries:

According to the Upazila Agriculture Office, under this agricultural incentive program for the Kharip-2 season, these materials will be distributed in phases among a total of 11,840 farmers of different unions of the upazila. The details are given below:

Aman paddy cultivation (4,600 farmers): Each farmer will receive 5 kg of Aman paddy seeds, 10 kg of DAP and 10 kg of MOP fertilizer.

Tree plantation program (5,390 farmers): Each farmer will be given 5 tree seedlings, 25 kg of cow dung fertilizer and 5 poles.

Summer vegetable production (1,500 farmers): Each farmer will be provided with 7 packets of 7 types of vegetable seeds, 15 kg of DAP and 15 kg of MOP fertilizer.

Hybrid Chilli Cultivation (250 farmers): Each will receive 1 packet of chilli seeds weighing 10 grams, 5 kg of DAP, 5 kg of MOP fertilizer and 100 ml of liquid pesticide.

Lemon Cultivation (100 farmers): Each will be distributed 5 lemon seedlings and 25 kg of organic/dung fertilizer.

Objective of the program:

Agricultural officials said at the inauguration ceremony that the main objective of this government incentive program is to increase agricultural production in the region, strengthen tree plantation to protect the environment and reduce the production costs of farmers to ensure food security of the country.

Officers and employees of the Upazila Agriculture Department, local public representatives, people related to agriculture and beneficiary farmers from different unions were present at the ceremony.
