
A mobile court has fined two companies a total of Tk 40,000 in Kalia, Narail for producing and marketing drinking water without a product registration certificate.
Kalia Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Sraboni Biswas conducted the mobile court on Monday (July 6) afternoon.
According to the mobile court sources, ‘Tahmid Drinking Water’ of Ramnagar area of the upazila was fined Tk 15,000 and ‘Al Amin Drinking Water’ of Pakuria area of Naragati Police Station was fined Tk 25,000.
Inspector Rakib Islam of BSTI’s Jessore regional office and members of law enforcement agencies were present in the operation.
Executive Magistrate Srabani Biswas said that two companies have been fined for producing and marketing drinking water without a product registration certificate. Such campaigns will continue in the public interest in the future.
