Former student leader Saiful Alam Shuvo Khan and others were attacked and threatened with death by identified drug dealers Firoz Khan and Miraj Khangong for protesting drugs in Dumki. The incident has created intense anger among the common people in the area. The victim Saiful Alam filed a general diary at Dumki police station in this incident.

It is known that Firoz Khan, son of deceased Sulaiman Khan, who is adjacent to West Srirampur Government Primary School in Ward No. 3 of Srirampur Union of the upazila, has been doing business with ganja and yaba with force for almost a decade. While doing business, he was arrested with drugs by law enforcement agencies several times. After serving a few days in jail, he is again openly doing drug business in Birdarpa. This is causing panic among the common people in the area.

According to the complaint, some youths including Md. Saiful Alam Shuvo, a former student leader of Upazila Chhatra Dal, a resident of the same area, recently protested against the drug trade of Firoz Khan and Miraj Khan in public. Angered by this, they planned to ambush Firoz Khan and Miraj Khan along with their associates and attacked Saiful Alam Shuvo, Monir Hossain, Abu Taher and some other youths on the night of July 24. And if legal action is taken in this matter, they threaten to kill them and leave.

In this regard, Md. Selim Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dumki Police Station, confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the police were immediately sent to the spot after hearing the incident. Further legal proceedings are underway in this regard.
