
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has arrived in Maheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar, to inspect several development projects including a deep seaport.
The helicopter carrying the Prime Minister reached Matarbari at 10:52 am on Sunday, said her Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon.
He said that the Honorable Prime Minister has reached Matarbari. She will see the activities of several projects including a deep seaport and a coal-fired power plant here.
The Prime Minister left her Gulshan residence at 8:50 am today and went to Tejgaon Airport. From there, she left for Matarbari by helicopter at 9:15 am.
Program: Visit to the Matabari Deep Sea Port, Coal Power Project and Maheshkhali Integrated Development Authority (MIDA) activities at 10:30 am, participation in the rehabilitation assistance program for those affected by the recent floods at Paschim Banshkhali High School and College grounds in Baharchhara Union, Maheshkhali at 12:30 pm, meeting with Hefazat Ameer Shah Muhibullah Babunagri at Al-Jamiatul Islamia Azizul Ulum Babunagri Madrasa in Fatikchhari at 2 pm, visiting the grave of Hefazat founder Ameer Shah Ahmed Shafi at Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Muinul Islam Madrasa in Hathazari at 3:15 pm, stopping at Hathazari Dak Bungalow at 3:15 pm, participation in the rehabilitation assistance program for those affected by the recent floods at Hathazari Government College grounds at 5 pm, meeting at the Radisson Blu Chittagong Bay View Hotel auditorium in Chittagong at 7:15 pm Joining the organizational meeting.
Additional Press Secretary Rumon said that the Prime Minister is going to Maheshkhali from Dhaka by helicopter, but from Fatikchhari she will carry out other programs in Chittagong by road. After the program, she is scheduled to leave for Dhaka from Shah Amanat International Airport at 9:30 pm.
BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has visited Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar before, but this is his first visit to Maheshkhali, Fatikchhari and Hathazari.
