The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has once again raised the price of jet fuel. Under the newly fixed rates, the price per litre for domestic flights (inclusive of duties and VAT) has been set at Tk 182.71; the previous month’s price was Tk 165.65.
This represents an increase of Tk 17.06 per litre in October compared to September, marking a rise of approximately 10.30 percent.
The BERC issued a notification regarding the new prices on Wednesday (October 7), signed by BERC Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam Sarkar.
According to the notification, the new price was determined by taking into account the average Platts rate for Jet A-1 in the international market and the US dollar exchange rate from Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation’s (BPC) LC statements.
Additionally, the price for international flights (excluding duties and VAT) has been raised from $1.0770 to $1.1882 per litre.
The BERC stated that the new rates would come into effect from midnight on October 7 and remain valid until further notice.
