In Bauphal, Patuakhali, Sonali Life Insurance PLC has settled a death claim by paying the insured amount to the nominee of a deceased policyholder.

Prior to this, a “Death Claim Settlement and Guest Seminar” was held on Wednesday (October 14, 2026) at the local office of Sonali Life Insurance PLC, located on the second floor of Ashrafia Super Market on Bazar Road in Kalaiya Union. During the event, the death claim was formally settled, and a cheque for 180,000 BDT was handed over to the nominee—the policyholder’s wife, Hamida.

The event was presided over by Branch Manager Md. Saidul Islam Hiron. Notable attendees included the Chief Guest, AGM Md. Nazmul Hossain Biplob, along with Unit Manager Rubel Hossain, Financial Associates Zakir Hossain, Imam Hossain, Nasrin Akter, Miraj Hossain, Abdullah, and Zishan, as well as various clients and local residents.

According to local sources and the insurance company, Helal Jomaddar—son of Jomaddar from Jouta village in Bauphal Union—had opened a policy with Sonali Life Insurance, paying a total premium of 6,000 BDT (at 2,000 BDT per installment over three months). He was employed in Munshiganj, near Dhaka. He passed away after suffering a stroke, which was preceded by sudden chest pain.

Following his death, his wife and nominee, Hamida Akter, submitted an application to Sonali Life Insurance PLC to claim the insured amount, which led to the settlement of the death claim.
