Taltali Police Station Police Constable dies suddenly, note recovered in barracks

Police constable Md. Faruk Hossain Gazi (55), working at Taltoli Police Station in Barguna, died suddenly.

He was rescued from his room in the police station barracks on Sunday morning and taken to Taltoli Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

The deceased, Faruk Hossain Gazi, was a resident of Angaria village in Rajapur Upazila of Jhalakathi district. He had joined Taltoli Police Station after being transferred from Patharghata Police Station about a month ago.

Police said that his colleagues found him ill around 9 am. After being rushed to the hospital, the doctor confirmed his death. After the incident, a four-page handwritten note was recovered from his room. In the note, he did not blame anyone for his death. However, some personal and family matters, including sending the body to his village home, were mentioned.

Taltali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Tariqul Islam Masud said, the real cause of death is not yet certain. Details will be known after the autopsy report and investigation. No specific cause of death was mentioned in the death certificate.

The incident has cast a shadow of deep grief among the police colleagues at the police station. The police said that the autopsy of the body and legal process are underway.
