A colorful rally was organized by Patuakhali Blood Foundation (PBF) on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day 2026 with the slogans “Manush Manush Yona, Blood Yona” and “Walk Together, Donate Together”.

On Sunday (June 14), a bicycle rally at 8 am and a walk and awareness rally at 6 pm started from Jhautala in Patuakhali city and circled various important roads of the city. Members of the organization, volunteers, regular blood donors and people from different classes and professions participated in the rally.

The rally emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation, ensuring safe blood, and urging youth to get involved in humanitarian service activities. The participants conveyed the message of blood donation to the general public by displaying various awareness slogans and banners.

Patuakhali Blood Foundation Advisor and Patuakhali Welfare Foundation Chairman An Nahian said, “Voluntary blood donation is a great humanitarian act. A small initiative by a blood donor can play a significant role in saving the life of a dying patient. Therefore, everyone in the society should come forward to donate blood regularly.”

Rafiqul Islam Bashar, advisor of the organization, said, “By donating blood, it is possible to give new hope not only to a patient but also to a family. Everyone should come forward in this humanitarian work.”

Zubair Hossain, vice-president of the organization, said, “This event has been organized with the aim of increasing awareness among people about blood donation and involving young people in humanitarian activities.”

Patuakhali Blood Foundation General Secretary Tofazzel Hossain, Sadar Upazila President Md. Sajib Khan, member Oliullah and other members and volunteers of the organization were present at the time.

General Secretary of the organization Tofazzel Hossain said, “Keeping in mind the slogans of “People for people, blood for life” and “Walk Together, Donate Together”, we are organizing this event to encourage blood donation and call on everyone to come forward in the service of humanity.

He further said that Patuakhali Blood Foundation (PBF) has been conducting voluntary blood donation programs, emergency blood collection, patient assistance and various humanitarian activities for a long time. This rally organized on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day is a part of that humanitarian activities.
