Jhumur, a student of Shahe Alam Model College, won first place in Bhola district in the anti-drug essay competition

Nadia Akhter Jhumur, a class XI humanities student of Shambhupur Shahe Alam Model College in Tajumuddin Upazila, has won first place in Bhola district in the essay competition titled “A drug-free society is the foundation for building a developed Bangladesh.”

Jhumur won the honor of being the best in the district in the ‘C’ group of the essay writing competition organized by the Narcotics Control Department, Bhola District Office on the occasion of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking-2026.

On Friday (June 26) morning, Bhola Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shamim Rahman received the award from the hands of the meritorious student Nadia Akhter Jhumur.

Expressing his feelings after receiving the award, Jhumur said, “Today’s achievement will be a great inspiration for my future path. I was able to achieve this success because of the sincere cooperation and guidance of my parents and college teachers. I seek blessings from everyone. I want to become one of the best lawyers in the country in the future.”

Shambhupur Shahe Alam Model College Principal Md. Muinuddin Hawlader said, “We give equal importance to co-curricular activities as well as academic education of the students. Teachers are given the responsibility to manage these activities. As a result, every year our students are showing their achievements at the upazila, district and even divisional levels.
