A young man named Nasir (18) has been accused of being beaten to death in Jangi Shibpur Bazar area of Uttar Bakhar Nagar Union in Raipura Upazila of Narsingdi. The brutal incident took place on Wednesday (July 15) at around 8 pm.

The deceased Nasir is the son of deceased Usman Mia of Jangi Shibpur area of Uttar Bakhar Nagar Union.

According to local and police sources, a group of people blocked Nasir in Jangi Shibpur Bazar area on Wednesday night and beat him indiscriminately. He was seriously injured and lost consciousness. On receiving the information, a team of Raipura Police Station quickly reached the spot and rescued him in a life-threatening condition. Later, when he was taken to a local hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead after examination.

When the news of the murder spread in the area, it created a huge sensation among the general public and a huge crowd of curious people gathered at the scene at night. However, it was not immediately confirmed why he was beaten to death in the market or who was directly involved in it.

Confirming the truth of the incident, Raipura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC, Investigation) Faridul Alam said, “The police quickly went to the scene after receiving the news of the incident at around 8 pm. Later, Nasir was rescued and taken to the hospital, where the doctor declared him dead. Initially, it was learned from the locals that he died in a mob lynching.”

He also said that the body of the deceased has been recovered and sent to the Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. Based on the autopsy report and police investigation, strict legal action will be taken against those involved after uncovering the real cause of the incident.
