Narail Sadar Police Station has arrested Rabiul Islam Robi (35), accused of raping and murdering a five-year-old child in Ramchandrapur village of Narail Sadar Upazila.

He was arrested from Dattapara area of Auria union of the upazila around 9:30 am on Tuesday (July 21). Accused Rabiul Islam Robi is the son of Atiyar Sikder of the same village.

According to police and local sources, Rabiul was accused of raping and murdering a five-year-old child in Ramchandrapur village of Auria union of Sadar Upazila last Monday evening. The child was found covered with a cloth inside Rabiul’s house. He raped the child and killed him. Later, in this incident, local people arrested Rabiul from Dattapara area around 9:30 am on Tuesday and thrashed him. Upon receiving the information, a team of Narail Sadar Police Station quickly reached the spot and arrested him and took him to the police station. The arrested Rabiul is currently in police custody.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narail Sadar Police Station Ajay Kumar Kundu said that the arrested Rabiul has been kept in police custody. Legal action is under process in this incident.
