
A joyous procession was held in Lalmohan as Major (Retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram, a seven-time elected member of parliament from Bhola-3 constituency, former minister and Speaker of the National Parliament, assumed the responsibility of the Acting President of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
On Friday (July 24) evening, the joyous procession, initiated by the Lalmohan Upazila BNP and its affiliates, started from in front of the Upazila BNP office, circled the main roads of the city, and ended at the Lalmohan intersection, where a short rally was held.
Speakers at the rally said that it is a matter of joy for Bangladesh that Major (Retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram assumed the responsibility of the Acting President. We are especially proud of Major Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, a resident of Lalmohan. He is a gifted son of this soil. He was elected a minister and speaker of the National Assembly immediately after becoming a member of parliament. After that, he was elected as the acting president. For this, he thanked and expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
