A schoolboy has been accused of publicly hacking to death a college student named Md. Nayan (17) in Lalmohan, Bhola. Immediately after the murder on Thursday (July 2) afternoon, accused Md. Manik (16) went to the police station with a blood-stained knife and surrendered himself.

The deceased Nayan is the son of Salauddin, a transport businessman of Ward No. 9 of Lalmohan Municipality. He was a class 11 student of the local Dr. Azhar Uddin Degree College. On the other hand, the accused Manik is the son of Alauddin of Ward No. 4 of Sadar Union and a class 10 student of Langalkhali Abdul Wahab Secondary School.

According to local sources, Manik ambushed Nayan in the sand field of Swanirbhar Road of Ward No. 5 of Lalmohan Municipality at around 1 pm. At that time, he was hacked to death with a sharp knife. Later, locals rescued him and took him to the hospital, where Nayan died.

Meanwhile, after this sensational murder, Manik himself appeared at Lalmohan Police Station with the knife used in the murder and confessed to the crime. The police immediately took him into custody. However, the reason for this brutal murder has not yet been confirmed.

Lalmohan Police Station said that a police team visited the scene after receiving the information. Preparations are underway to send the body to the morgue for autopsy. The accused is in custody and an investigation has been launched to unravel the main mystery of the murder. Legal action is underway in this incident.
