
President Md. Shahabuddin has submitted his resignation to the National Parliament Secretariat. This information was revealed on Friday (July 24) afternoon.
When contacted on WhatsApp on Friday afternoon to inquire about his resignation, the President told bdnews, “It is well known, what is the use of hearing it from my mouth? I am sick, so it is done.”
When asked whether the resignation letter has been signed, he said, “I told you, you understand.”
Meanwhile, after returning home after cutting short his personal visit to Thailand amid rumors about the possibility of the President’s resignation, Speaker of the National Parliament Hafiz Uddin Ahmed will be coming to the press conference at 5 pm. The press conference will be held at the Parliament Secretariat at 5 pm at the National Parliament Building.
Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed went to Bangkok on July 19 for medical treatment. According to the tour schedule, his return ticket was booked for July 26. But on Wednesday, rumors of President Md. Shahabuddin’s resignation began surrounding a Facebook post by expatriate journalist Zulkarnain Sayer.
