Purbadhola Health Complex is the only reliable treatment center for lakhs of people in 11 unions of Purbadhola Upazila of Netrokona district. Currently, Purbadhola Upazila Health Complex has 50 beds. The current government’s important step is to upgrade the hospital. Therefore, the government has decided to upgrade Purbadhola Upazila Health Complex to 101 beds. But extreme irregularities and corruption are going on in Purbadhola Upazila Health Complex. Irregularities and corruption are not stopping. A few days ago, the brokers were brought under punishment by operating mobile phones.

After talking to patients while visiting the hospital, it was learned that Purbadhola Health Complex is selling 3 taka tickets for 5 taka by sealing them on white paper. When asked about this, ticket clerk Md. Anwar Hossain could not give a correct answer.

It is alleged that they have been involved in this work for a long time with the connivance of ticket clerk Anwar Hossain and the hospital’s chief cashier Mohammad Bin.

The patients said, we have complained about this before but have not received any solution. So now we do not tell anyone. We are happy to get proper treatment and medicine but we do not get it.

Md. Bakul Mia, a resident of Agia Union, who came for treatment, complained that he took a ticket of 3 taka for 5 taka, but still I did not get any medicine. Rana Mia, a resident of Ghagra Union, said that I spent 70 taka and got medicine for 10 to 15 taka. It was better to go to the pharmacy than this.

Bakul Mia further complained that the ticket being given is made small on a white paper where the name of the hospital is not visible. He said that this corruption of taking money by sealing a white paper without giving a ticket cannot be accepted. He lamented that if the outpatient department and emergency department charge two taka more, how much more money is being taken per month and how much more money is being taken per year. The previous treatment has not changed.

Netrokona-5 constituency MP Professor Masum Mostafa, Netrokona district civil surgeon, Purbadhola Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shafiqul Islam visited the hospital on Wednesday. When asked about the issue of taking money from 3 taka tickets for 5 taka and sealing them on white paper and patients not getting medicine, all of them said that the matter is regrettable.

Appropriate action will be taken against those involved in this incident.

Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Mahmudul Hasan said, there is no opportunity to take 3 taka tickets for 5 taka or more. Action will be taken after looking into the matter.
